The Bar at Johnny’s Grill Is a Low-Key Neighborhood Hang

For when you want a drink without a lot of fuss.

If you’re looking for the latest in high-concept bartending, look elsewhere–the reincarnation of divey diner Johnny’s Grill (2545 N. Kedzie Ave., Logan Square, 773-278-2215) is more of a comfy, neighborhoody spot for all hours.

By day, the place is focused on food, and you can still order eats and snacks from former Cicchetti chef Sarah Jordan’s classic offerings come nighttime (the bar and dining area are connected but decorated differently.) And for these waning warm days, there’s a lot of sidewalk seating available, which on weekend nights are filled with nearby residents sipping Moody Tongue beers and just hanging out.

Here’s what all we saw when we stopped by.
