After closing for a store remodel, Lacoste at Water Tower (835 N. Michigan Ave., level 3) is holding a re-opening celebration this week. On Thursday, July 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the store will have t-shirt giveaways, locally designed screen printed shirts for sale, free gifts with purchase and sweet treats for shoppers. Plus, the spring and summer line is currently on sale (some items are marked as much as 50 percent off.)
Along with shopping perks, you’ll get to know Kamau Murray, founder of XS Tennis in Chicago. The South Side native says his life changed the summer his mom signed him up for $12 tennis lessons. His coach set him on a path to earn a tennis scholarship at Florida A&M University and today, he runs his own youth tennis program in Kenwood to impact young players in the same way.
Lacoste has created a short film about Murray and will debut it at the store this Thursday. The film will play every 30 minutes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 20 percent off all sales made that day will benefit XS Tennis.
