There’s a new slice of Paris on the Mag Mile. At Saks Fifth Avenue (700 N. Michigan Ave., saksfifthavenue.com), the in-store Givenchy boutique has just emerged from a facelift. Started in May and unveiled this month, the redesign gave the swanky shop new, marble-and-brass accents and updated lighting and fixtures. “The shop has an edgy and sophisticated appeal, just like our Givenchy lady,” says Julie Cameron, marketing director for Saks Chicago.
The boutique also has a newly expanded slate of offerings. Cameron says that the shop now carries a wider variety of styles, which range from “sophisticated, tailored pieces to sexy cocktail dresses and the quintessential Rottweiler-print sweater.” (Take a peek at the vaguely alarming canine print here.)
The French label is helmed by designer Riccardo Tisci, who went “as dark and alluring as ever” for Fall 2015, Cameron says. Indeed, there is no shortage of black tucked into the boutique’s racks. But, the collection also features graphic designs and floral prints, including a baby’s-breath pattern that shows up in clothing and accessories. Naturally, the luxury brand’s prices are on the haute end of the spectrum, with a ruffle-hem shift dress ringing in at $1,990, and a t-shirt priced at $1,000.
True brand fanatics should stay tuned for details on an upcoming Saks event called “World of Givenchy.” Slated for September, the event will “celebrate all of the Givenchy lines we carry,” including handbags and men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, Cameron says.Edit Module
