Let it pour, let it pour, let it pour.
After this winter, I’d happily trade in my battle-scarred winter jacket for one of these gorgeous, ethereal rain coats by Terra New York. Stylish, indeed, and they’re also completely functional. Terra’s designers, Yurika Nakazono and Marie Saeki, are avid cyclists who sought out to create fashion-forward design that would keep them dry while they ride.
The jacket’s seams are heat sealed (no needles involved) assuring not a drop of water can get in. Lest you fear your slicker turn into a steam bath, vent holes are strategically placed under storm flaps to allow the body to breath.
Just in time for April showers, Terra New York rain gear is now available for the first time in Chicago. Find the brand’s classic trench coat, Tribeca ($375) and cape, Lafayette 2 ($345) in store at Nordstrom (55 E. Grand Ave.; nordstrom.com).
