How to Go to Work Nude

These Christian Louboutin pumps are pointy-toed calfskin numbers that match a wide range of skin tones.

It has always struck me as bizarre and distressing that many clothing and accessories makers, when naming a color that resembles Caucasian skin, go with the term “nude.” Like there aren’t a zillion other skin tones out there.

Not Christian Louboutin. He makes his classic Pigalle pump—a pointy-toe calfskin number with four-inch heels and that distinctive red sole—in five different shades, from pale blush to dark brown. The entire collection is called “The Nudes.”

So when you’re looking for a pump that will create a long seamless line from your leg to the ground—whether at work or out on the town—Louboutin’s Oak Street shop should be your first stop.

Price: $625
Store: Christian Louboutin, 58 E. Oak St.
