January Wong, 26
Manager at Scoop NYC
Lives in: Old Town
Backstory: Born in Evanston and raised in Highland Park, Wong is the oldest of four children; her parents named her January to signify “a new beginning.” (Her birthday is actually in December.) After graduating from the University of Illinois, Wong worked in health care information technology until her “obsession” with fashion got the best of her. She eventually left her job to work at a clothing store. “I’ve always been interested in clothing design,” she says. “Even growing up, when I was a competitive figure skater, I designed my own outfits.”
