Open House Chicago (OHC), produced by the Chicago Architecture Center (CAC), celebrates its 10th anniversary with 10 days of discovery merging online programming with curated, self-guided outdoor excursions. To support public health, the new OHC is designed to bring the unique cultures, expressions and flavors of Chicago to you — wherever you’re most comfortable.
OHC 2020 highlights more than 20 Chicago areas and suburban communities via openhousechicago.org and a free mobile app for iOS and Android devices. Access lectures, panels and virtual tours online and venture outdoors to explore free OHC trails and sites.
Use the app and website to REGISTER for OHC video broadcasts and virtual tours. DISCOVER the legacy of architectural innovation in Chinatown, the vibrant mosaics and murals of Pilsen, the mansions of Beer Baron Row in Wicker Park, our “emerald necklace” of parks and public spaces, and how the City of Chicago’s INVEST South/West initiative will revitalize multiple corridors. BROWSE maps, photos, short descriptions and audio clips provided by guest experts and historians about OHC sites, and FOLLOW OHC self-guided trails on your bike, by car or on foot.
CAC members get special access to an online OHC orientation as well as to My Neighborhood, My Story — an exclusive series of virtual tours of OHC neighborhoods hosted by noted architects, artists, media personalities and public figures.
