Dr. Iliana Sweis is the director of the North Shore Center for Plastic Surgery Ltd. and has been in private practice for over 20 years. She is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In recognition of her professional accomplishments, she has been cited by Castle Connelly and by the Consumers Research Council of America as one of the Top Plastic Surgeons in America for the past 16 years.
Dr. Sweis has cultivated a premier and highly personalized practice focused exclusively on cosmetic surgery. Dr. Sweis earned her medical degree at Northwestern University followed by a residency in general surgery at Case Western Reserve University, and completed a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Northwestern University. She is currently a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and maintains surgical privileges at several Chicago area hospitals. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. She is also the past president of the Illinois Society of Plastic Surgeons. In her spare time, she has volunteered as a plastic surgeon on medical missions. She was presented with Jordan’s Award of Highest Distinction by King Hussein of Jordan in 1996 for her volunteer work with the children of the country.
Dr. Sweis’s dedication to her profession has led to her ongoing contributions to the medical literature. She is the author of many medical journal articles. Her research and clinical findings have been published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, Aesthetic Journal Quarterly, American Surgeon, Toxicology Reports, and several other medical journals. She continues to perform clinical research to better understand and improve safety and patient outcomes in plastic surgery.
