DWR’s August e-catalog has a reproduction of Finn Juhl’s Pelican chair (originally produced in 1941) on the cover and at the office, we’re split on what we think of this design. I like it. It’s charming, unique, and looks pretty comfy with those enveloping arms (or should I say wings?). Others on staff think it’s kind of goofy. What do you think? I love how these mid-century Danish designers turned to the animal kingdom for design inspiration (I’m thinking of Arne Jacobsen’s Swan and Ant chairs).
