File this under cute: Tiffany Brooks of You and Your Décor leaves a silhouette as a gift in every home that she decorates. “I have the homeowners and kids sit sideways in front of a light wall, and I take a photo,” she says. “With some Photoshop magic, I then sharpen the shadow, blow it up (or in many cases, shrink it), then trace the image onto canvas and paint it. I choose the paint color according to the decor in the home.” Brooks believes that even in the most upscale homes, “silhouettes ground the place, and bring everything back to reality.”
