Logan Square dweller Mallory Meznarsic has been scratching her creative itch for years by making gifts for friends and family. She would head to a hardware store, see what kind of things she could buy, and then go home and turn them into something new.

The results were fun and colorful: painted strips of pine stacked together to form a wall hanging, cork board coasters painted in mod designs, and simple bamboo utensils brightened up with bursts of color on the handles.

Finally, after tons of encouragement by those closest to her, Meznarsic opened up her Etsy shop a week ago. She named it Reinvent Home—a name as simple and precise as her designs.
