We know what you’re thinking: Does Chicago seriously need another recurring outdoor shopping event? Make your way over to the huge playground at the A.N. Pritzker School in Wicker Park on Sunday and you’ll likely be convinced that the answer is yes.

The playground is being transformed into the Chicago Flea MKT, a cool source for artwork, home accessories, clothing, jewelry, food, and vintage goods. It includes more than 50 local vendors—a few I’ve written about recently (such as Craftbelly and Nicolet Candle Company) and a bunch I can’t wait to check out (including maps from Cartografika and ceramic mugs from Shira Leon).

Like any good outdoor market, there’s no admission fee. Plus, hungry patrons will be fed by food trucks. The lunchtime line-up includes The Slide Ride, DucknRoll, Bridgeport Pasty, and 5411 Empanadas.

The market is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, on Evergreen Avenue just west of Damen. And if you can’t make this one, there will be a second act on June 2.
