Some bittersweet news for mid-mod furniture lovers: On May 1, Robert Zizzo is closing his terrific Lake View antique shop ModLife and moving his vintage-modern inventory to a River West warehouse, from where he will operate his business by appointment only and online.

In the past few years, Zizzo’s curated sales on websites such as 1stdibs and One Kings Lane have garnered him a national reputation among vintage fans and design pros alike (his finds have appeared on the sets of shows such as Mad Men, The Playboy Club, and Chicago Fire). It’s not easy being an antiques shop owner in an online world, so we congratulate Zizzo on 10 years of brick-and-mortar success.

Now through April 30, the shop will offer 10 to 35 percent off on select upholstered pieces, case goods, lighting, art, and sculpture. After that, watch for Zizzo on those online flash sales: He will be featured in his fourth Tastemaker Tag Sale on One Kings Lane in late April and on Chairish this summer.
