A glass-and-metal sculpture by Christine Tarkowski

Sculptor Christine Tarkowski likes to talk about the artistic process. Perhaps that’s because her version—working with 2,200-degree molten glass—is spectacular. For her latest series, Glass Fours, Tarkowski crafted 12 evocative, glossy tabletop sculptures, each a unique blend of drizzled black glass and welded steel. “The decisions I make are fast,” says the Little Village artist, whose work calls to mind Jackson Pollock’s paint splatters. “It’s a choreography with gravity.” The Chthonic Void opens April 3 at Devening Projects + Editions, 3039 W. Carroll Ave. deveningprojects.com
