Chicago’s Eight Best Folk, Country, and World Music Events in September

9/11 at 7:30 Elephant Revival. An indie acoustic project that uses faint, lilting vocal harmonies, washboards, and stomp boxes in its instrumentation, the group is amazingly refined in its arrangements. $18.
9/25 at 7:30 Vienna Teng. Putting Teng in one genre is impossible, which is why she’s often shooed into the singer-songwriter category. She’s a piano player of the highest caliber, often composing songs that have a classical bent. $15–$25.
