Critic’s Notes

Longman & Eagle’s chef and co-owner make Pilsen’s dreams come true with this redo of Thalia Hall. Jared Wentworth’s dishes showcase nuanced flavors, as in a matsutake mushroom risotto with caramelized chestnuts. From impeccable oysters to clever desserts, such as roasted chili churros with bittersweet chocolate sorbet, the menu delights. Fun cocktails and an ever-changing beer program add to the allure; warm, prompt service multiplies it exponentially.
