September 25, 2008– Fashionistas joined the Chicago History Museum and Chicago magazine to celebrate the Exhibition Preview Event for Chic Chicago: Couture Treasures from the Chicago History Museum. Chic Chicago chronicled Chicago’s fashion history through the decades with extraordinary garments from 1861 to 2004, which represented the most prominent couturiers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Each gown had a strong connection to Chicago and belongs to the Museum’s permanent collection. Chic Chicago runs through July 26, 2009 and offers a rare opportunity to see more than 60 of the greatest couture treasures from the Chicago History Museum’s collection.
