Tuna Tartare @ Bice
The tuna tartare at Bice on Delaware has way too much guacamole. Please let the fish shine through. BICE: Talbott Hotel, 10 E Delaware; 312-951-8900

The squash soup at the new Bice on Delaware seemed a good idea, but it needed more squash and more heat. BICE: Talbott Hotel, 10 E Delaware; 312-951-8900
@pennypollack: Best thing a/b the new Bice is the outdoor seating along Delaware. 2nd best is hefty halibut w/caper sauce. BICE: Talbott Hotel, 10 E Delaware; 312-951-8900
A flight of sliders @ Hoyt’s includes bbq pork w/granny smith slaw, turkey w/ roasted red peppers & Brie, short rib meat w/onion marmalade. Not a bad idea at all. HOYT’S: 71 E WACKER; 312-346-9870
The side of glazed wild mushrooms @ Hoyt’s were all too tame for my table. HOYT'S: 71 E WACKER; 312-346-9870
@pennypollack: Medium rare and frenched, lamb chops on creamy risotto & red pepper compote are best of show @ Hoyt’s. HOYT’S: 71 E WACKER; 312-346-9870
The labor movement in turn of the century Chicago: fighting for fair pay, reasonable wages… and for brewery employees, lots and lots of beer.
The restaurant’s vaunted ticketing system goes down, causing an online ruckus. Having been on the other side, I can sympathize. They should consider themselves lucky no frozen dogs are involved.
@pennypollack: While every restaurant in town scrambles to come up w/comfort food, the fried chicken @LuxBarChicago meets all my needs. LUXBAR: 18 E BELLEVUE; 312-642-3400
The angel hair pesto @ Volare can be salvaged, but it takes a lot of salt and pepper. VOLARE: 201 E Grand; 312-410-9900
