When it comes to lunch in the Loop, there’s not much to love. Just ask the half million or so people who live and work downtown. But now, Bruce Finkelman and Craig Golden, the restaurant and real estate-savvy partners behind Dusek’s, Longman & Eagle, and other hot spots, have jumped into the breach with their soon-to-launch Revival Food Hall. Its 24,000 square feet of prime ground-floor space in the National, Daniel Burnham’s landmark 1907 building at Clark and Adams, houses more than a dozen vendors, from a branch of Antique Taco to an outpost of Smoque BBQ. See it for yourself when the space opens on August 18.

1 Union Squared

Pizza:Detroit-style, red-sauce-topped squares, and always a Neapolitan pie à la the Evanston flagship

2 Furious Spoon

Ramen:Vegetable, shoyu, and miso with freshly made noodles—just like at its two storefronts

3 Brown Bag Seafood Co.

Seafood:Half a dozen fresh fish and shellfish options, served your way

4 Budlong

Chicken:Heads-up: This is a pop-up space, so devotees of Nashville hot chicken should giddyup.

5 Graze Kitchenette

Burgers & Bowls:Fare for mindful gourmands: grass-fed beef on brioche buns and refreshing açai bowls

6 Antique Taco Chiquito

Tacos:The signature fish taco plus a whole new repertoire that’s all about breakfast

7 Farmer’s Fridge

Light Fare:The salad-from-a-vending-machine pioneer upsizes to counter service—for food that doesn’t fit in jars.

8 Revival Cafe-Bar RCB

Coffees & Cocktails:Take a load off with java or spirits—or java mixed with spirits.

9 Harvest Juicery

Juices:What’s a happening market without chef-driven cold-pressed juices and smoothies?

10 Danke

Charcuterie:Artisanal sandwiches and cheeses, cured meats, and a happy hour, from the folks at Table, Donkey and Stick

11 The Fat Shallot

Sandwiches:Eliminating the need to track the food truck when the mood strikes for a shallot and turkey breast sandwich

12 Smoque BBQ

Barbecue:Like the original temple of brisket, this baby sib is bound to be a hangout for Chicago’s men in blue.

13 Black Dog Gelato

Gelato:Seven flavors daily, but (as at any BDG) it’s always about the goat cheese caramel cashew.

14 Aloha Poke Co.

Seafood:Poke: like tuna or salmon sushi in a bowl, except from Hawaii, and with tons more ingredients and sauces
