The upholstery, window treatment, and wallcoverings studio has just received its spring offerings, including a slew of fresh prints with flowers, birds, and insects that the owners promise will add “whimsical sophistication” to your home (Thomas Paul's designs for Duralee definitely fall into this category). Also just in: Marimekko wallpaper, which was released last summer, is now available through Workroom (exclusively in Chicago, according to the owners).

March 1, 2010 --- Some of Chicago’s and the world’s most notable chefs brought their culinary expertise together for Common Threads’ Fifth Annual World Festival on March 1st at Soldier Field. Ingrid Hoffmann, Stephanie Izard, Nigella Lawson, and Ming Tsai were among this year’s celebrity chefs who served up global gourmet cuisine to over 900 attendees. March 4, 2010 -- The Chicago Fashion Foundation hosted their third annual scholarship awards at Macy’s State Street. Following the cocktail hour, a runway show hosted by 24/7’s Catie Keogh celebrated the emerging talents of ten scholarship finalists and boasted global looks inspired by Chicago’s Sister Cities. Grand prize winner Eunyoung Joo took home a $5,000 scholarship for her Kremlin-inspired wool and fur dress. Read more
