The Best of the Rest

- The Taste of Chicago is happening in Grant Park (Jackson & Columbus) through Sunday, and the food fest’s offerings include more than CurryWurst and fried plantains. - Blowtique (blowtique.com) is now offering haircuts for men and women. The salon—which formerly provided blow-outs and up-dos only—charges $75 for women’s haircuts, and the service includes a blow-out. For men, the cost is $45. The salon has two locations; find addresses and more information here.
- Plan ahead for a day of international artistry at Robin Richman (2108 N. Damen Ave., robinrichman.com). On July 16, the Bucktown boutique hosts a trunk show called “Time/Timeless: A Worldly Collection of Textiles, Jewelry, and Art Objects,” and objects from Africa, India, Colombia, and other countries will be on display. The day starts with a 1 p.m. luncheon featuring a lecture on South American textile design; a cocktail reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information, call 773-278-6150.
