This Week’s Top Story
After an expansive renovation, Gucci (900 N. Michigan Ave., gucci.com) reopens its Chicago flagship on Friday. The space—which has an added second floor and now covers more than 10,000 square feet—stocks the complete collections of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, jewelry, and accessories; it also carries the Gucci children’s collection and Gucci beauty. Initially unveiled in Milan, Gucci’s new design concept mixes contrasting materials—think velvet armchairs and layered oriental rugs—with industrial-style display units.
