September 20, 2013--Chicago foodies took to Union Station for the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America “Journey Through the Great Lakes” benefit dinner to support the foundation as well as local charity partner Common Threads. Chefs included All-Star Richard Blais; Andrew Zimmerman of Sepia; Paul Virant of Vie; Tony Mantuano of Spiaggia; and Gale Gand of Tru, among others. September 7-8, 2013--The 2013 Chicago Hunter Derby raised $200,000 for the University of Chicago Cancer Research Center, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the United States Hunter Jumper Association Foundation.
Just an hour north of downtown Chicago in Antioch, Illinois, are the open fields and rolling meadows of Annali Farm. This picturesque destination was the setting of the 2013 Chicago Hunter Derby on September 7 and 8.
The event, now in its fifth year, featured the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby sponsored by ABBA Vet Supply and the main event, the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, presented by Canadian Pacific.

May 17, 2013--More than 400 attendees joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at the Fairmont Millennium Park for the culminating gala of LLS’s annual Man & Woman of the Year campaign. In the 10 weeks leading up to the gala, local leaders in the business and philanthropic communities competed to raise the most money for LLS. After an evening of dinner, auctions, inspirational messages from two young blood cancer survivors, and more, Ryan Van Pelt and Barbara Bernick were announced as the 2013 Illinois Man & Woman of the Year for their fundraising achievements. Together the 13 candidates raised more than $775,000 for cancer research and patient support services. Read more

July 13, 2013--The Chicago Architecture Foundation and AIA Chicago opened a secluded beach house in Indiana for an afternoon tour. This cozy home is situated on Lake Michigan sand dunes and features sustainable, local materials. Participants in this "At Home" program heard from the homeowners and the architect, John DeSalvo, while enjoying refreshments.
