Delicious bites were provided by Black Dog Gelato, Chicago Q, Copper Rock Steakhouse at Four Winds New Buffalo, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Glazed and Infused, Hot Woks Cool Sushi, Magnolia Bakery, M Burger, Mercadito, Mercat a la Planxa, Nacional 27, New England Seafood Company Fish Market, RPM Italian, Taco Joint, Zocalo, The Palm Restaurant, and Wolfgang Puck Catering. Drinks were provided by Ketel One Vodka, Don Julio, Bulleit Bourbon, Johnnie Walker, Tanqueray, Zacapa Rum, Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Leffe, Stella Artois Cidre, and Once Upon a Vine. June 21, 2013--Chicago magazine and The Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital celebrated Chicago magazine’s 20 most eligible singles at the 13th annual Summer Lovin’ event. Partygoers gathered at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago to enjoy an evening of fun, complete with delicious bites from 17 of the city’s hottest restaurants, an array of signature cocktails, a silent auction, a Hawaiian vacation raffle, a flip book station, photo booth, dancing, and much more. All proceeds from the 2013 event will support innovative bone marrow transplant research to improve cancer care at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Read more
June 1, 2013--More than 2200 wine lovers raised a glass of Illinois wine and sampled locally crafted gourmet goodies at Downtown Oak Park's second annual "Uncork Illinois" event. Sponsored in part by Chicago magazine, festival goers enjoyed the sound of live jazz, courtesy of WDCB, while strolling, shopping and sipping in a charming downtown setting. May 11, 2013--The 26th annual Alzheimer’s Association Chicago Rita Hayworth Gala at the Hilton Chicago raised a record-breaking $1.5 million for Alzheimer’s Association care, support, and research programs. More than 900 guests attended the Mother’s Day weekend tradition and paid homage to the elegance of the silver-screen legend. Founded by Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, the Gala is a tribute to her mother, Rita Hayworth, who lost her life to Alzheimer’s disease. Read more

April 20, 2013--The Women's Board in partnership with the Board of Trustees of the Chicago Zoological Society hosted the 32nd annual Whirl at Brookfield Zoo on April 20. The black-tie fundraiser allowed guests the experience to get up close with a variety of charismatic animals, including a cheetah, flamingo,penguin, fennec fox, spotted genet, wallaby, tamandua, and sloth from both Brookfield Zoo and the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. The $600-per-person gala was chaired by Romana Malinowski, store director of A. Marek Fine Jewelry in Oak Brook. The event, which was attended by more than 625 guests, grossed approximately $1.27 million, which will support the animals at Brookfield Zoo, as well as the Chicago Zoological Society’s conservation and education programs.
