June 15, 2012--NBC's Stefan Holt and Cheryl Scott emceed this year's Summer Lovin' event, where they presented Chicago magazine's 20 most eligible singles. Tasty hors d’oeuvres were provided by Union Sushi + Barbecue Bar, Magnolia Bakery, Hub 51, M Burger, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, Nacional 27, III Forks, Mercat a la Planxa, La Madia, Blue Agave, II Mulino, Wolfgang Puck Catering, and Mercadito. Drinks were provided by Ketel One, Don Julio, Zacapa, Stella Artois, Bulleit, Johnnie Walker Black Label, Tanqueray, and The Naked Grape. Guests enjoyed an array of activity stations, such as makeovers with Amazing Cosmetics, hairstyling by Pascal pour Elle, and photo opportunities courtesy of Spex and Rock of Ages. The raffle was kindly donated by American Airlines and Waikiki Parc while the silent auction was sponsored by It’s Just Lunch. Guests relaxed in the vitaminwater lounge with signature cocktails. June 15, 2012--Chicago magazine and The Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital celebrated Chicago magazine’s 20 most eligible singles at the 12th annual Summer Lovin’ event. More than 1,000 guests gathered at the Museum of Contemporary Art to enjoy an evening that featured tasty bites from 15 of the city’s hottest restaurants, an array of signature cocktails, a silent auction, a Hawaiian vacation raffle, a photo booth, purple carpet, dancing, and much more. All proceeds from the 2012 event will benefit stroke research and treatment at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Read more
May 31, 2012--The Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust held its annual Chairman’s Reception benefit at The Rookery, with its spectacular Frank Lloyd Wright-designed light court and home to the Preservation Trust’s downtown offices. Patricia and T. Kendall Hunt, CEO, VASCO Data Security International Inc., co-chaired the reception, which attracted more than 200 guests. This festive celebration launched the 38th Annual Wright Plus on Saturday, June 2, a weekend-long event featuring the world-renowned architecture of Wright and his contemporaries in Oak Park, Illinois. April 21, 2012--The Women's Board, in partnership with the Board of Trustees of the Chicago Zoological Society, hosted the 31st annual Whirl at Brookfield Zoo on April 21st. The black-tie fundraiser allowed guests the unique opportunity to get up close and mingle with a variety of amazing creatures, including a flamingo, bald eagle, fennec fox, penguin, llama, red-tailed hawk, lynx, and cheetah from both Brookfield Zoo and Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. The $600-per-person gala was chaired by Susan Ahern of Barrington Hills. The event, which was attended by more than 700 guests, grossed approximately $1.3 million to support the animals at Brookfield Zoo as well as the Chicago Zoological Society’s conservation and education programs.
