July 27, 2011--Chicago magazine hosted the “Best of Chicago” event at 445 N. Michigan Avenue venue to honor the August issue’s editorial honorees. The winners, their guests and some fellow “Best of” winners enjoyed complimentary cocktails by Tito’s Homemade Vodka and Victoria Beer along with delicious hors d’oeuvres. The guests were also able to splurge at the candy station, cool down at the Italian ice station and snap their best shot at the traveling photo booth. Features editor, Jennifer Tanaka, congratulated all the winners in attendance. August 4, 2011--The VIP Kitchen Walk Party was held at the Sub-Zero/Wolf showroom in The Merchandise Mart on August 4th. More than 100 guests enjoyed food and wine pairings from chef Craig Bell. Raffle prizes included Ravinia tickets and wine baskets from William Hill. Proceeds from the event benefited the work of Designs for Dignity. Read more
July 14, 2011--PAWS Chicago, the city's largest No Kill, humane organization hosted the 9th Annual Beach Party on Thursday, July 14th at Castaways Boathouse at North Avenue Beach. This year's event had more than 400 people and 100 dogs in attendance, making it one of Chicago's largest pet-friendly social gatherings. The event was co-chaired by Dawn and Jim O'Neal and Nancy and Ron Officer. Presented by North Community Bank, Pomellato, and Bonnie and James L. Spurlock, the Beach Party was a great success and raised more than $210,000 for homeless pets! Read more

May 7, 2011--The 24th annual Alzheimer’s Association Chicago Rita Hayworth Gala took place at the Hilton Chicago with more than 600 guests generously donating more than $900,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association. Sandy Zane & Ned Bennett and Kindred Healthcare were honored at the event. Funds raised through the Rita Hayworth Gala support the Alzheimer's Association’s mission of providing care and support resources for individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease, as well as funding groundbreaking research into the cause, treatment and prevention of Alzheimer’s. The evening included a cocktail reception, three-course dinner, program, auctions and live music for dancing. Princess Yasmin Aga Khan began this event in honor of her mother, actress Rita Hayworth, who died as a result of Alzheimer’s disease. Under Princess Yasmin Aga Khan’s leadership, over $55 million has been raised through the Rita Hayworth Galas. These funds, combined with other donations, have helped the Alzheimer’s Association work toward our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s disease. Read more
May 20, 2011—Chicago businessman and philanthropist, Richard Driehaus, hosted his annual fundraiser event that showcases young emerging designers. Guests gathered at the Driehaus car museum, where his personal collection of vintage vehicles are on display, for a cocktail reception, silent auction, and sneak preview of the designers before the show. Twenty-five students from five area colleges and universities in Chicago were selected to participate in a runway show and compete for various scholarships. The 2011 winner was Que Shelbley.
