March 11, 2011 -- The Chicago Architecture Foundation, in partnership with Capital Properties and Metro / SmartBar, hosted an evening full of midcentury modern design at Chicago's storied Inland Steel Building. Guests sipped on midcentury-inspired cocktails (neat or on the rocks?), relaxed in iconic Eames lounge chairs, and mingled with local artists, fashionistas, furniture designers, and architects. Deejays Kid Color, Nate Manic, and Bald Eicon set the mood throughout the night as guests danced against the backdrop of a downtown skyline. ICON was sponsored by Chicago Home + Garden, Herman Miller, Bacardi, and Hangar One. Proceeds benefited the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Read more

March 1, 2011—Chicago magazine honored the 50 Most Beautiful Chicagoans, as featured in the March issue, with a sophisticated soiree at L2O. Guests were treated to delicious hors d’oeuvres by L2O, specialty cocktails courtesy of Moon Mountain Vodka, and wine provided by H2Vino and Heritage Wine Cellars. January 31, 2011 -- CIRCA Chicago hosted a private tour of the Gold exhibit at the Field Museum for more than 150 clients and invited guests. The tour was led by Ruth Thuston, director of CIRCA Chicago and her colleague Ed Hartman. Each guest left with a booklet entitled, "Golden Treasures", which showcased a number of CIRCA’s iconic jewelry purchases. One lucky guest was the winner of a raffle and left with a $20 gold coin that CIRCA had recently purchased. This is the second year of what CIRCA hopes will be an annual event. Read more
January 20, 2011 -- For the 17th consecutive year Chicago magazine honored its Chicagoans of the Year, six individuals who have changed life in the city for the better. The magazine celebrated their achievements at its annual Chicagoans of the Year Luncheon at the Four Seasons Chicago Hotel sponsored in part by American Airlines. The Chicagoans of the Year honorees each received a donation to the charity of their choice, courtesy of the Chicago Tribune Foundation. Read more

November 12, 2010 -- More than 700 attendees gathered at The Drake Hotel for an evening of elegance and compassion, raising more than $700,000 for Chicago's homeless animals. The event catered to both people and pets with a dinner buffet and dancing. Sponsors included A. Marek Fine Jewelry, Saks Fifth Avenue, and The Drake Hotel. Co-chairs were Janice and Philip Beck and Ashley and Jeff Quicksilver. Honorary chairs were Amy and Julian Mack. Read more
October 20, 2010 – The 3rd annual Mario, Make Me a Model contest, presented by smartwater® & Chicago magazine, concluded with five finalists walking the runway with professional Ford models. The fashion show not only highlighted the contest finalists but also showcased collections from five Chicago designers. Mario Tricoci announced the winner of the competition at the end of the show.
