Devin Kirk, VP of merchandising at Jayson Home, fills in the blanks for our new series “Finish This Sentence.”

1. My favorite room in my house is my butler’s pantry because it’s like shopping in my favorite store. One of the job hazards in my line of work is you can accumulate too much stuff (hard life, I know). I converted a tiny room off my kitchen into a pantry where I have floor-to-ceiling shelves to house all of my favorite tabletop pieces that I’ve acquired through the years. It makes setting up a dinner party super easy and super fun.

2. A recent purchase I’m excited about is my new custom stationery from paper-lovely.com. It’s chic and affordable, and has me eager to send some good old-fashioned mail.

3. My go-to article of clothing is a pair of Levi’s 511 jeans. Buying things that get better with time is my gold standard for good shopping, and there is no better example of that than Levi’s.

4. When I need my spirits lifted I listen to The National. It's not especially cheerful music, but it never fails to put me in a great mood.

5. As far as home furnishings go, I say, every space benefits from great artwork. I love layers of art—leaning on mantels and counters, hanging on bookshelves and doors. It’s what separates one person’s home from another and it’s the best way to bring in reminders of the places you've been.
