BRIAN KENT
28, personal trainer
Works with individual clients at Crunch in River North. Crunch charges $110 to $130 an hour, of which Kent takes home less than half.
I think that it's an underappreciated job. The public perception of a trainer is someone that is either like a meathead or someone that just counts reps and takes people from machine to machine. There's a lot more that goes into the job.... I bill about 150 to 160 hours a month, not including hours in the gym writing e-mail.... I'm getting married in the summer.... at some point I have to make the decision to work smarter, not harder. That's a good mantra for the gym life.
