Inside Bread & Wine
Bread & Wine

“Great body,” my husband said to me over wine and charcuterie at Bread & Wine, a delightfully hip new wine bar in Irving Park. Well, thank you very— “And minerality,” he finished. Turns out he was talking about my glass of 2010 Cantina Terlan (Terlaner Classico, Alto Adige, $9). So go the tête-à-têtes around the room, which triples as a small-plate lounge and an artisan boutique for condiments, preserves, cheeses, and well-priced global wines. I loved that the bartender customized a cocktail for me—based on my fondness for ginger and vodka—and how well it went with our snacks (a thumbs-up for the chorizo tacos and the chicken liver pâté). “And you’ve got great nose,” I replied. “Or at least your tempranillo [2010 Campo Viejo, Rioja, $7] does.” 3734 W.
