Pour: New Grist Beer

By Dennis Ray Wheaton

New Grist Beer

Here’s a refreshing medical bulletin: Those of you who can’t abide gluten can take comfort in New Grist Beer ($8 or $9 a six-pack), made from only sorghum and rice extract, hops, water, and gluten-free yeast. The talented folks at Lakefront Brewery up in Milwaukee came up with this light-bodied, crisp, and fruity pale ale. It’s flavorful enough to add to your summertime party ice chest of microbrewskis even if you can’t pronounce “celiac.”
