Three New Chicago Neighborhood Names to Start Using Now

Why stop at NoCa? Here are some other ideas for unnamed microneighborhoods.

Developers are trying to rebrand the old Cabrini-Green site as NoCa—North of Chicago Avenue. That got Chicago thinking about other microneighborhoods that could use new monikers.

 

LoSoMa

Where: Logan Square South on Milwaukee Avenue
Alternate meaning: Lord, So Many Artisanal Cocktails

 

 

Solita

Where: South of Little Italy
Alternate meaning: Sold on Living Near Checkered Tablecloths

 

 

TriNoCo

Where: Triangle North of Cortland (near the old Finkl steel plant)
Alternate meaning: Trixie Nomads Coming West
