Bite Cafe

1039 N. Western Ave.
Chicago, IL 60622

This casually hip storefront offers plenty to chomp on, notably a delectable roast chicken, which may be partnered with Swiss chard and diced Yukon Golds or perhaps lentils and Brussels sprouts; a terrific burger joined by a mountain of fries; and if they’re on the chalkboard, a hearty short rib atop creamy polenta or a lovely pan-seared brook trout. The menu rotates but not to worry—there are always several gems onboard. After noshing, check out the indie-rock sounds at the adjoining Empty Bottle.
