Crowds here can be maddening, but it’s a small price to pay when there’s high-style comfort food like crab cake, juicy roast duck, and a killer skirt steak to be had. Impersonal service may sway you to ask for the check early; but hang on for the vanilla crème brûlée or a chocolate chip sundae, and you will be glad you did. Prairie Fire, in the West Loop, is the city spinoff (312-382-8300).
