Critic’s Notes

It takes an entire spice market to create some of Vermilion’s fusion dishes, which include a Brazilian caldeirada de peixe (curried fish stew) and delicate artichoke pakoras. Vegetarian and Indian-only menus give the restaurant breadth, and desserts walk the line between sweet and savory.

Dishes We Liked

Citrus and fennel salad ($9), lobster Portuguese stewed in Goan gravy (market price), traditional Brazilian seasonal seafood stew ($25), chimichurri New York strip ($31)
