Whether it’s a BYO barbecue shack or your backyard grill, nothing beats a good beer with smoky meat. And why not one with a bit of healthy cachet? Started 20 years ago by former home brewers, Milwaukee’s Lakefront Brewery offers a wonderful organic beer: Lakefront Organic E.S.B. (extra special bitter) is a classic British-style ale with a charming fruity, full-bodied flavor balancing malt richness and assertive hoppy tang. FYI: I buy my stash at Whole Foods, but it’s also available at selected Sam’s (South Loop) and Binny’s (Lake View).
