Illustration of an iPad menu

For all of us who weren’t allowed to have toys at the dinner table growing up, this new trend is sweet revenge. First Aria (Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park, 200 N. Columbus Dr.; 312-444-9494) began stocking its tables with iPads that contain the menu, helpful item definitions, preparation explanations, and wine pairing suggestions. Now Chicago Cut Steakhouse, opening September 21, intends to have 40 iPads loaded with their wine info. Another bottle? There must be an app for that, too.
