Faux Leather Has Never Felt So Good

This Brooklyn Industries handbag hits its mark: Chic, spacious, and silky smooth.

Last Saturday afternoon, my dog and I decided to wedge ourselves into the crowd at Wicker Park Fest. By the third time the poor pup’s paw got stepped on, he gave me the “I’m done. Let’s go shopping” look. (Okay, so this is a loose interpretation of the look he gave me, but regardless, we proceeded to hit the Milwaukee Avenue shops.)

A stop in Brooklyn Industries turned up this oversized, vintage-inspired handbag. The combination of the tote’s rugged, worn appearance and the silky feel of the faux leather instantly drew me in. Interior pockets aplenty mean there’s also easily accessible storage space for a phone, lip gloss, keys, and (of course) dog treats.

$78, at Brooklyn Industries, 1426 N. Milwaukee Ave., 773-360-8182, brooklynindustries.com.
