The Ex-Con-Tended Bees of O’Hare Airport

A honey company and the North Lawndale Employment Network put ex-offenders to work as beekeepers in the shadow of O’Hare.

The Daily Herald has a nice article on Sweet Beginnings, a subsidiary of the North Lawndale Employment Network, which puts former felons to work on otherwise undevelopable land created as a part of O’Hare’s modernization project (via Mother Nature Network and Chase Me Ladies, I’m in the Cavalry).
