Sometime this weekend, they’ll turn on the lights at The Grid (351 W. Hubbard St., 312-321-1351), the lounge and restaurant that subsumes its former upstairs neighbor, Baume & Brix.
Remodeling delivers a wood-burning pizza oven and spreads the Grid’s steel-and-wood look over both spaces, now joined by a common entrance. Dirk Flanigan (The Gage, Henri) serves as opening chef while searching for a location for his solo project. Flatbread pizzas, burgers, and a build-your-own sandwich category called Boards and Buns feature on the menu.
