Chicago League of Lady Arm Wrestlers at Joe’s Bar

Posted Apr 18, 2011 at 03:42 PM

Sixteen muscly maids put up quite a fight at the Chicago League of Lady Arm Wrestlers’ (CLLAW) ninth annual event this Friday at Joe’s Bar on the Near North Side. Attendees were given fake money, “CLLAWBUX,” which they used to bribe the emcee and judges—in hopes that their favorite brawny broad would be crowned victor. But in the end, Connie Vict out-muscled Armageddon to take home the championship sash, crown, and trophy. See our photos of the event below.

About Seen on the Scene

Call it bar hopping by proxy: Each week we send our photographers into the thick of the action to capture the latest openings and the most buzzed-about events; then, on Mondays, we post the photos here, where you can view them without getting elbowed in the side or having a drink spilled down your pants. You’re welcome. And for those who do run into our photographers out and about, be sure to smile for the camera.
