Watching the Blackhawks Win at Market

Posted Jun 1, 2010 at 01:29 PM

Not even the outstanding views from Market’s rooftop deck could detract attention from the Blackhawks’ nail-biter of a win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. Our photographer headed to the one-year-old West Loop sports bar, just a slap shot from the United Center, to capture the drama, the elation, the beer, as patrons watched game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals unfold on Market’s 22 TVs, including a 100-inch flatscreen on the roof. With Monday’s second win under their belts, the Hawks head to Philly for game 3 on Wednesday. Catch the action at Market or one of Chicago’s 50 other team-approved Blackhawks bars.

About Seen on the Scene

Call it bar hopping by proxy: Each week we send our photographers into the thick of the action to capture the latest openings and the most buzzed-about events; then, on Mondays, we post the photos here, where you can view them without getting elbowed in the side or having a drink spilled down your pants. You’re welcome. And for those who do run into our photographers out and about, be sure to smile for the camera.
