Weekend Photos: The Grid

The Grid hit the scene last month, and we were curious to see if the sleek, below-grade lounge under Baume & Brix has what it takes to fill a glaring nightlife void between the East Bank Club and the Merchandise Mart. Early signs point to “yes.” We found the stunning room—with luxe touches including metal and beam ceilings, leather couches, futuristic chrome fireplaces, and roughly 25 TVs—abuzz with a chic clientele, which enjoyed Manhattans made tableside, Thai-style mojitos crafted with coconut ginger syrup and cilantro, and fancified bar bites such as duck fat and cheddar popcorn.
