What Chicagoan—Dead or Alive—Would You Bring on a Road Trip?

Take your pick from anyone in the city’s history to have riding shotgun this summer.

You’re going on a road trip. It’s a long drive. And it’d be a lot better if you had someone fascinating in the car with you. 

After thinking long and hard about some of the most interesting people in Chicago’s history, we settled on five names. These men and women, without a doubt, will have amazing stories to tell. Or, at least, they’ll be amusing enough to get you past the Indiana state line.

So, putting aside the minor details—threats to your safety, security details, and open containers of whiskey—who would you bring?
