Without question, Bar Siena (832 W. Randolph St., West Loop, 312-492-7775) is the busiest place we've stopped in all summer. Not only is it one of the buzziest restaurants to open all season, its bar program can hang with the best of them.

This past Saturday night, every inch of the main-floor bar area was packed, with people sipping on craft beers (including the house Italian-style wheat beer, brewed by Goose Island) and mostly Italian wines by the glass. The crowd mixed both West Loop pretty people and folks in t-shirts and jeans just hanging out–a notch above casual but still plenty approachable.

Here's what all we saw when we stopped in.
