Andersonville Gets a Cozy Wine Bar with Appellation

The restaurant-slash-bar, adjacent to the fifth location of Pastoral, opened this past week.

Given how terrible the weather was on Saturday, a cozy new wine bar seemed like just the ticket. Luckily, this past week saw the opening of the fifth location of cheese shop Pastoral and, with it, the restaurant-slash-vino-spot Appellation (5212 N. Clark St., Andersonville).

While you’re picking up a log of artisanal goat cheese at the market part, meander over to the wood-and-tile bar for a glass of wine, where you’ll be joined by sweater-and-jeans casual locals taking refuge with charcuterie plates and beers and wine by the glass. Sip something you like? You can probably get a bottle of it to go in the cheese-shop part.

Here’s what else we saw when we stopped in.
