Top Sales This Week

Local women’s clothing designer M2057 by Maria Pinto holds but two sales per year, and one of them is happening now. Through Labor Day, select summer styles are 30 to 50 percent off at both m2057.com and the label’s summer-only store (1205 W. Webster Ave.). Discounted merch includes some of Pinto’s most popular dresses, jackets, pants, skirts, and tops.

Kids’ boutique The Red Balloon (1940 N. Damen Ave. and 3651 N. Southport Ave., theredballoon.com) is making way for fall items by offering 30 percent off its entire stock of already reduced summer gear. Prices range from $7 (tees and onesies) to $35 (dresses and long-sleeved tops). The sale runs through August 25.

Similarly, Wicker Park men’s and women’s apparel shop Penelope’s (1913 W. Division St., shoppenelopes.com) is holding a sale-on-sale event. All sale items (including these leather booties) are an additional 20 percent off, both in-store and online (with code “saleonsale”).

Beginning August 21, nearly all remaining spring and summer merchandise at Eskandar (70 E. Walton St., eskandar.com) will be marked at 65 percent off. Items include the British designer’s much-loved cashmere cardigans (regular price $2,095; sale price $943) and cashmere pullovers (regular price $1,495; sale price $672.75).

Opening

Kendra Scott (kendrascott.com), the Austin-based women’s jeweler known for its line of bold, color-infused designs, celebrates the opening of its first Chicago shop (900 N. Michigan Ave., Level 3) on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Make a $50 purchase that day and they’ll throw in a gratis pair of these dangly, periwinkle-colored earrings ($60 value).

Event

On August 22 from noon to 4 p.m., high-end women’s boutique Intermix (40 E. Delaware St., intermixny.com) celebrates the launch of its fall denim trend report with one-on-one styling sessions for shoppers; free snacks and Champagne; and—the best part—complimentary on-site alterations. RSVP to events@intermixny.com.
