This Week’s Top Story

Marshall Pierce & Company (marshallpierce.com) has relocated to 960 North Michigan Avenue. Specializing in fine jewelry and timepieces, the family-owned company has been in business since 1928. Its new store spans two floors and more than 5,000 square feet. Within the space, seven salons are each devoted to a different timepiece brand, including Cartier and Baume & Mercier. There are also bridal and fine jewelry offerings from lines such as Ivanka Trump, Mikimoto, and—new to the store—Paolo Costagli.

Top Sales This Week

Ikram (15 E. Huron St., ikram.com), which sells clothing from designers such as Alexander McQueen and Comme des Garcons, is having a rare sale. As of today, select items are 40 percent off; soon, likely in January, remaining sale inventory will be farther marked down to 60 percent off.

Neiman Marcus (737 N. Michigan Ave., neimanmarcus.com) has major sales going on through December 24. The Women’s Designer Sale is offering up to 40 percent off regularly priced sportswear, couture, evening wear, jewelry, intimate apparel, shoes, and handbags. The Men’s Designer Sale also takes up to 40 percent off items, including shoes, clothing, and accessories. Men can also get up to 25 percent off underwear and socks at the Men’s Personal Furnishings Sale. After Christmas Eve, the pieces will likely be marked down again.

Intermix (40 E. Delaware Pl., intermixonline.com), the contemporary women’s store, is offering an additional 40 percent off sale items. Though there’s not an official end date, staffers anticipate the sale to wrap up soon. The shop carries items from designers such as Marissa Webb, Elizabeth and James, and Derek Lam 10 Crosby.

The third annual Shop Damen event takes place this evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Several shops along Damen Avenue between North Avenue and Webster Avenue will offer treats, entertainment, and one-night discounts. Alexis Bittar (1710 N. Damen Ave., alexisbittar.com), for example, has discounted its jewelry by up to 50 percent.

Opening

Saks Fifth Avenue has completed a renovation of its women’s contemporary department. On the fifth floor, the shop carries styles from labels such as 3.1 Phillip Lim and 7 For All Mankind. Check out the refreshed space at a party taking place this evening from 5 to 8 p.m. R.S.V.P to RSVPChicago2@s5a.com.

Markets

Holidose, Dose Market’s (dosemarket.com) holiday iteration, sets up shop at Morgan MFG (401 N. Morgan St.) on Sunday. Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the market will offer goods—including jewelry, clothing, and body products—from more than 100 makers. Check out the whole lineup (and ogle pictures of chocolate-studded marshmallows) here.

Randolph Street Market (1340 W. Washington St., randolphstreetmarket.com) will also host a holiday-theme run this weekend. Open on Saturday and Sunday, the market will showcase vintage, antique, and indie designer goods; there will also be free giftwrapping.

Pop-Up

Stock Mfg Co. (stockmfg.com), a local menswear manufacturer, is hosting a pop-up shop at the Virgin Hotels Chicago (203 N. Wabash Ave.) through December 23. Inspired by cross-country road trips and Miller High Life advertising, the merchandise includes pea coats, denim jackets, and indigo work shirts; there are also accessories such as ties and leathers wallets. Price points range from $20 to $300.

Preview

The new, flagship Gucci (900 N. Michigan Ave., gucci.com) is showcasing the brand’s spring/summer 2016 collection through tomorrow. For preview and pre-order by appointment only, the collection is inspired by an abstract concept that’s loosely based on urban travel. The collection will become available to the public on February 1, 2016, and this week’s event marks the first time that Gucci has given Chicago a sneak peek at a runway collection. To book an appointment, call 312-664-5504.
