The Force is definitely with Lucas. He’s worth billions. He’s got a powerful, glamorous wife (No. 18). A new baby. And an old baby, Star Wars, that was, of course, just reinvigorated by director J.J. Abrams and smashed box-office records around the world. (Lucas consulted on the film.) New interest in the Star Wars series bodes well for attendance at his 300,000-square-foot Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, to be built on the lakefront by 2019 (the City Council rubber-stamped it in October). And with his wife, he’s changing lives through education: In October he donated $10 million to his alma mater, the University of Southern California, to support Latino and African American student filmmakers.
