Oprah breaks bad in The Butler.

"I want to catch The Butler tonight—if for no other reason than to check out Oprah Winfrey’s performance.

Saturday night, I’m in Evanston for the Light Opera Works production of Cabaret at Cahn Auditorium. I’m a fool for musicals and am a Kander and Ebb groupie, so what could be better?"—Penny Pollack, dining editor

"I am packing up the husband and kids and roadtripping to Camp Wandawega, which, for the uninitiated, is an old camp-turned-artist retreat in Wisconsin. It has been transformed by Ogilvy creative director Tereasa Surratt, the author of Found, Free, & Flea, and all of her art-designer friends; this weekend is a family camp for adults and kids. I hear there will be rope swinging, campfire storytelling, a slip-and-slide, and adult sno-cones. Can’t wait to get out of town. —Cassie Walker Burke, executive editor

"Tonight I will hit up the Andersonville antique shop Scout for the annual Ted Harris lamp show. Harris makes the most amazing lamps from thermoses, vintage dumbbells, globes and all sorts of crazy stuff. Also this weekend, Lillstreet Art Center is celebrating its 10th year at its current location with free crafts workshops and a block party—I’ll be hitting that up on Saturday. Sunday, it’s off to the Randolph Street Market."—Gina Bazer, style editor

"I might check out Drinking Buddies tonight. I'll also wander around Bash on Wabash on Saturday. They have 17 local acts performing on both Saturday and Sunday. I'm especially curious about funk band Mathien.  " —Tomi Obaro, assistant editor
